The Nissan Rogue is about to rock down to Electric Avenue with the addition of an all-new hybrid model. Electrification has become a hot topic in the auto industry, especially with government mandates for enhanced fuel efficiency. This makes the debut of the 2017 Nissan Rogue Hybrid quite timely.

The new model will be similar to the gas-only Rogue in virtually every way, with its under-the-hood parts being the one big differentiator. The Rogue Hybrid will come equipped with a 2.0L 16-valve DOHC inline 4-cylinder engine that works in conjunction with an electric motor and compact lithium-ion battery.

The SUV’s combined horsepower rating is 176 hp. Fuel economy estimates from Nissan are 33 city / 35 highway / 34 combined mpg for the front-wheel drive edition of the hybrid and 31 city / 34 highway / 33 combined mpg for all-wheel drive models. EPA estimates are not yet available.

Full details regarding features have not been revealed quite yet, but if the hybrid is similarly equipped to the gas-only Nissan Rogue, it will offer features like a rearview camera, navigation, Siri Eyes Free, a power liftgate, heated front seats and much more.

Like the 2017 Rogue, the hybrid edition will receive updated styling and new safety technologies. Stay tuned for more details about this in our newsletter.

The Nissan Rogue Hybrid goes on sale in the Los Angeles area later this year and Cerritos Nissan will have it on the lot when it arrives!
