Get in the holiday spirit at the 108th Newport Beach Christmas Boat Parade – taking place nightly from Dec. 14-18, 2016.

The five-day spectacular is an esteemed annual tradition that combines local beach culture with holiday sights and sounds. Every year, over a million viewers go to watch gorgeously decorated boats, yachts, canoes and kayaks gather in a procession that lights up Newport Bay. Take a sneak peek in the video below!

On opening night at Newport Pier, there will be a great fireworks show beginning at 6:15 p.m. It overlaps with the start of the parade at 6:30 p.m. and provides an extra luminous experience. On closing night, the event features fireworks at the end of the parade from Balboa Pier.

If you don’t want to view the Christmas Boat Parade from land, hit the water! Numerous companies are offering boat rentals or you can book a spot on a yacht. If you want to dine and watch, there are even awesome views from local restaurants, though tables go fast.

In addition to the Boat Parade, you can also walk around the island and view all of the houses decked out in Christmas décor. There’s a ton to see and do, and you’re sure to make great memories during your visit!
