What's New For the 2019 Nissan Maxima

The 2019 Nissan Maxima sports a nicer interior trim and a new exterior look. The new design of the Maxima's front-end features revised LED headlights as well as LED accents. You will find that the Vmotion grille shape is now more pronounced with a redone lower bumper. The back bumper has also been revised and now offers four integrated tailpipe openings. The SR models also have a spoiler that sits on top of the trunk lid. Nissan even threw in five new wheel designs for each of their trim packages and has included Sunset Drift, a vivid shade of orange, into the color options.

The Maxima's interior has been upgraded with new upholstery and dash materials. This is most obvious in the SR model which now features diamond quilted seats accented with orange stitching and matching orange micro suede. In the Platinum Reserve you will discover semi-aniline leather like that found in the GT-R Premium with bronze colored trim. All of this is topped off with a two-tone steering wheel that adds even more style.

Which Features are Available for 2019?

All five of the Maxima trims have received new wheels, and there are improved interior finishes among all 2019 packages. Exactly what you can expect varies from one trim to the next. Nissan is carrying over the SV, SR, SL, and Platinum trims from the 2018 line, and they have added a Platinum Reserve option that sports silver alloy 19-inch wheels. The higher trim levels offer extras such as upgraded sound systems, a sunroof, ventilated front seats, a power rear shade, and an auto-dimming driver's side mirror for your comfort and convenience. You can also find features like radar cruise control, larger wheels, a 360-degree exterior camera view, and power steering column adjustments in these trim packages.

Robust Power & Performance is a Hallmark of the Nissan Maxima

2019 Nissan Maxima Exterior FrontYou won't find any major mechanical changes in the 2019 Maxima. It continues to offer the same reliable 3.5-liter V-6 engine along with 300 horsepower. The sole power train option remains a continuously variable automatic transmission. Now that the Altima has switched over to a turbocharged four-cylinder engine, the Maxima is set apart with its V-6.

Nissan Maxima Safety Features

2019 Nissan Maxima Exterior RearNew to the 2019 Nissan Maxima is a more comprehensive suite of safety features. The new offerings are being listed as the Safety Shield 360. This active-safety suite includes rear cross traffic alerts, blind spot monitoring, front and rear automated emergency braking along with pedestrian detection, automatic high-beams, and lane departure warning as standard equipment in the SR Premium package as well as the Platinum. Traffic sign recognition and adaptive cruise control are now offered on the lesser trims, and a driver attention monitor is standard on all.

In addition to the newly incorporated safety features, you will find driver, passenger, front head, rear head, front side, and rear side airbags protecting the driver and passengers. Four wheel ABS, four wheel disk brakes, brake assist, and electronic stability control make the Maxima easy to handle while daytime running lights, child safety locks, and traction control round out the available safety features.
