In 2019, both the cargo van and passenger van version of the Nissan NV get some key improvements. The passenger van still seats 12 passengers, but it has more versatile seating configurations than in the past. Now, you can arrange the seats in more than 300 different ways. The Nissan NV is offered in five trim levels this year, including three trims for the passenger van and two trims in the cargo van. The Nissan NV comes with more standard safety features this year. It also gets more standard technology, such as an upgraded infotainment system.
The exterior of both the cargo van and passenger van see improvements with the addition of more chrome accents. This year, 17-inch steel wheels give the Nissan NV a head-turning look. Along with the standard amenities, the Nissan NV is also available with a larger fuel tank. Both the cargo and passenger van versions of the Nissan NV make it easier to load and unload cargo with a revised cargo door system that lowers the vehicle's step-in height and makes the cargo doors wider. The doors have also been more extensively tested this year to be more weather-resistant and durable than before.
The cargo van of the 2019 Nissan NV comes in two trim levels, while the passenger version comes in three. The base trims of the two are identical. This year, the S model of the passenger van has a standard seven-inch infotainment display screen with Apple CarPlay, Bluetooth, and iPod connectivity. Dual USB charging ports are also standard in the base trim. Also standard is a 5.8-inch color display screen with a touchscreen configuration. The next trim level up, which is the SV, adds power-operated doors and windows. Its driver's seat can move in eight ways, and it gets a more advanced audio system with six total speakers. Rear parking sensors are standard on this trim. You'll also get two more charging outlets that are 12V each. The SL gets a more luxurious interior with leather seats and a leather-wrapped steering wheel. Dual-zone air conditioning is standard, and this NV gets front parking sensors as well. The infotainment system includes navigation and hands-free support. Fog lights, which are available on the lower-level trims, come standard.
The cargo van editions of the NV are similar in appearance, inside and out, to the passenger vans. The base version of the NV is called the S. It shares the same interior design as the S version of the passenger van. The cargo van, however, weighs more than the passenger van and is better equipped for towing. The second trim level of the NV is called the SV. This version features a four-speaker audio system, more chrome touches, and a security system.
There are two engines available in the 2019 Nissan NV. The base engine on both the cargo and passenger vans is a 4.0L six-cylinder engine. This engine produces up to 261 HP and 281 LB-FT of torque. The second, more powerful engine is an eight-cylinder that produces up to 375 HP and 387 LB-FT of torque. This engine has a displacement of 5.6L. An automatic transmission is standard in both vehicles, and you have a choice of getting a larger fuel tank to maximize fuel economy with both versions, too.
While Nissan emphasized power and performance in the 2019 NV, it did not neglect safety. The latest NV comes with a variety of standard safety features, including side and overhead airbags for all occupants. A backup camera is standard, as are rear parking sensors. The Nissan NV is also fortified with a rigid steel frame and crumple zones.
